About the Artist
Tom Bob is a New York-based street artist known for turning ordinary pieces of city infrastructure into playful characters, animals and visual jokes. Pipes, utility boxes, manhole covers, barriers and other overlooked objects become part of the artwork rather than simply serving as the surface beneath it.
His practice depends on seeing possibilities hidden in the built environment. The transformations are usually immediate and easy to read, using bright color and humor to interrupt the routine of the street and give passersby a reason to stop, look again and smile.
